Toyota’s luxury brand Lexus is planning to reveal the production version of the LF-A supercar at the 2009 Tokyo Motor Show in October. The LF-A’s production will be limited to a 500 units, with 120 of those for domestic market with an estimated starting price of around $310,000.

The GT500 version will be powered by a high-revving 5.0-liter V10 producing an estimated 500HP, while the SS550 is said to get a tweaked version of the V10 with a displacement of 5.5-liters and an output of around 550HP. Both variants feature a front-mid engined layout with a transaxle housing the semi-automatic gearbox and rear-mounted radiators.

The Lexus claimed that its LF-A V10 supercar would reach a top speed of around 220mph or 354km/h.

The Japanese automaker Lexus reveals LF-A 500HP V10 to the ultimate test by entering two race-spec mules at current Nurburgring 24-hour endurance race. The 200mph+ (321km/h) LF-A hot car are powered by a front-mid mounted V10 engine producing 500HP. The LF-As will be entered by Gazoo Racing.

The team that will tackle the ‘Green Hell’ will be made up of a combination of professional drivers, Toyota test drivers, dealers and a pilot that Lexus refers to as “Morizo” who is none other than Toyota’s soon-to-be CEO Akio Toyoda, the grandson of the firm’s founder.

The new Lexus GX SUV will be launched this autumn. The next-generation GX will receive the 310-hp 4.6-liter V8 engine from the 2010 Tundra, giving it a useful boost over the larger 263-hp 4.7-liter in the current model. The new GX SUV will also benefit from a new interior (including a next-generation navigation system). Additionally, it will sport revised sheetmetal (different sheetmetal than 2009 model pictured above) and body panels including a different rear door assembly.

“The largest SUVs have been hit the hardest, but there’s still a segment of the population that wants those vehicles,” he tells during a media preview for the Lexus HS 250h sedan.

Lexus LF-A caught racing

The new Lexus LF-A’s prototype was caught in testing on the Nürburgring rings in Germany. As we see through camouflage, the new Lexus LF-A can definitely be seen sporting a new front- and rear-end, as well as additional sculpting to its side air intakes found ahead of the rear wheel and between the B- and C-pillars.

The Lexus LF-A production version is rumored to produce over 500 hp from a V10 engine, and the car itself should be capable of over 200 mph. Expected price - around $200,000.

The newest Lexus RX 350 will make its debut at the 75th annual Melbourne Motor Show in Australia. The Melbourne Motor Show runs from 27 February to 9 March at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre. The 2010 Lexus RX-350 is fitted with an upgraded 3.5-litre petrol V6 engine that develops 204 kW / 275HP and is mated to an electronically controlled, sequential-shift, six-speed transmission which replaces the five-speed automatic of the previous model. Along with the RX 350, the Lexus will also show its LF-A Roadster concept.

The new Lexus HS 250h was revealed at the Detroit Auto Show. The Lexus HS 250h is a first dedicated hybrid model as well as the first to future a four-cylinder gas engine. The two front-wheel drive saloons share many design cues like the small, triangular shaped extension of the front window as well as the overall shape of the car.

Power comes from Toyota’s Hybrid Synergy Drive system mated to Lexus’ first four-cylinder gas engine, a 2.4-liter Atkinson-cycle unit, for a total output of 187 HP. As you may have already guessed, power is driven to the front wheels through an electronically controlled continiouslt variable transmission (CVT).

Lexus unveiled its Limited Edition and Executive Limited Edition of its RX400hs model. Beginning with the RX 400h Limited Edition that costs £35,995, it comes with luxury features including leather upholstery, heated electrically adjustable front seats, and the Lexus Multimedia system .

The RX400h Executive Limited Edition which is priced at £37,995, extends the standard equipment specification with electric tilt and slide sunroof, electrically adjustable steering wheel, memory settings for the driver’s seat, steering wheel and door mirrors, rain-sensing windscreen wipers, entry lighting system and a power tailgate.

Both new RX 400h special editions come with a two-year/20,000-mile servicing package. Included in the on-the-road price, this covers all routine vehicle servicing during the stated period, with a customer value of around £360.

Look at hte spy photos of a new 2010 Lexus RX SUV, that has been snapshoted with a camera phone The new Lexus’s SUV look as a blink-and-miss-it evolutionary styling. The interior has been completely revised featuring a more contemporary design. There’s also talk about a 7-passenger, long-wheelbase version but this is something has not been officially confirmed.

Tech details are also thin on the ground, but the Japanese-market brochure makes word of the RX350 and the RX450h meaning that the latter may get a more powerful V6-hybrid drivetrain than the current RX400h.

The third-generation Lexus RX will break cover at the forthcoming Los Angeles Auto Show on 21 November with sales set to commence in the first half of 2009.
